Saturn

First, we shouldn’t kid ourselves about travel time. Saturn (the 6th planet) is twice as far from the sun as Jupiter (the 5th) which makes it much farther from us. It’s got all the same problems as Jupiter, too, like no solid surfaces, but it does have something Jupiter doesn’t—Titan! Titan is a moon so large that it has its own atmosphere. It has gravity, water, and a natural chemical cycling system (like the water cycle here on earth). Unfortunately, Titan’s cycle is based on methane, but in the grand scheme of interplanetary settlement, that’s a small hurdle to cross!
