Pacific Rim

Ok, it may not be Oscar material, but this movie totally satiated our primitive desire to see ginormous robots battling ginormous half shark/half lizard creatures and smashing nearly everything in sight. It was also surprisingly optimistic, a pleasant change of pace in comparison to the dark, dreary and BORING tone that so many films had this summer (I'm looking at you, Man Of Steel!).
