Tobias S. Buckell’s Arctic Rising

Of all the great novels that made our list, Tobias S. Buckell’s Arctic Rising is the one that hits closest to home. In the story, global warming has caused the arctic ice cap to melt, and has triggered a race between many countries to claim the oil that has been discovered underneath. It’s part environmental disaster novel, and part good ol’ sci-fi thriller!
