Octopus

These tentacled wonders of the sea are amongst the very best problem solvers in the animal kingdom, making them far and away the most intelligent animal in the entire mollusk family, many of whom (like the clam) don't even have brains. Octopi are actually playful creatures and even exhibit unique personality traits from octopus to octopus. It's thought that these creatures evolved such big brains due to the fact that coral reefs are amongst the most complex in the world, and if with so many predators, if you aren't armored then you better be smart.
