Bizarre & Amazing Mythological Beasts!

Maananggal

This bizarre creature originating from the Philippines is the stuff of nightmares. It's basically a vampire-witch woman with the ability to sprout bat wings and SEVER ITSELF FROM IT'S OWN TORSO while on the hunt, dragging it's entrails about in the process. Believe it or not, it just gets weirder from there. They would often carry poisonous stingray tails as a whip, and were said to prey on sleeping pregnant women, sucking their young from the womb with an elongated, mosquito like tongue.
