Seeing as how life and death operate on a different level in the Pokémon world, it shouldn’t be shocking at this point to learn the human soul ultimately gets the shaft. There’s no eternal bliss for the deceased, merely rebirth as a floating PBS logo called Yamask. Carrying death masks of their former selves, Yamask lament when looking at it, reminded of happier days when they weren’t forced to engage in glorified cock fights. Kind of makes getting devoured by Lampent sound less bleak, doesn’t it?
