The work of NYC-based company Solar Ivy is another example of how solar panels can add to a building's charm, rather than detract from it. As the company's name suggests, they specialize in disguising panels to look like ivy vines — an ingenious mashup of old-fashioned and futuristic styles. These networks of solar cells could be hung from residential or commercial buildings, enhancing both the sustainability factor and the overall aesthetic.
