15 Classic Novel Endings We Would Change

A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway

Although it may very well be Ernest Hemingway's best novel, A Farewell to Arms has a pretty bad ending. After all this build up of romance between the main character and his nurse girlfriend, she just so happens to get pregnant and die in childbirth. Seriously?! Considering that the novel is based on Hemingway's actual wartime experience, and that his wife definitely did NOT die during childbirth, it is even more confusing.
