Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

Practically every young woman with even the TINIEST interest in books reads Little Women at one time or another in their adolesence, and that's definitely not a bad thing! The ending feels a bit out of characer, however, as otherwise fiercely independent and feisty women seem all too comfortable settling into a very "normal" life as wives and mothers. Everything just feels a little bit too tidy.
