20 Scientific Errors in Gravity

By Becky Ferreira Oct 10, 2013

Gravity has only been out for a few days, but it's already a critical and commercial juggernaut. Alfonso Cuarón really hit it into orbit with this slick space flick, which is packed with riveting twists and absolutely stunning effects. It's also fairly scientifically rigorous for a Hollywood blockbuster — space nerds are sure to enjoy the hyper-accurate interior of the International Space Station, and the references to the Soyuz and Shenzhou capsules that have helped make Russia and China such prominent leaders in space exploration.

Even so, it's science fiction, emphasis on the f-word. Here's our list of the most noticeable errors in the movie — and be warned, there are SPOILERS. SO MANY SPOILERS. So turn back now if you haven't seen the movie. For those who have, welcome to the den of scientific quibbling!
