Space Shuttle Anachronism

The movie: The film depicts STS-157, a mission on the Space Shuttle Explorer with the purpose of repairing the Hubble.

Real life: The American Space Shuttle program was shut down in 2011, after the successful mission of STS-135 Atlantis. You might think we'd give the movie a little leeway given how recently shuttles were decommissioned. But we gotta be sticklers, especially because the movie also prominently features the Tiangong-1 spacecraft, which was launched after the shuttle program's final mission. These two ships never shared the skies together. Also, according to NASA expert Michael A. Interbartolo, the orientation of the Explorer was way off. Vectors, and all that.
