Doomsday was localized entirely in small-town Pennsylvania when sentient space slime nearly devoured the entire populace in The Blob. But it’s not like we have vicious wads of goo in our world... right? Lurking within the damp, dark recesses of nature is Physarum polycephalum: A yellow slime mold that’s capable of navigating mazes and remembering where its traveled via the slime trails it leaves behind. Mind you, P. polycephalum is devoid of a brain, yet capable of complex thought. In the meantime it dines on microscopic organisms, but the slime will likely develop a taste for human flesh down the line...
