Although Donnie Darko is not technically a horror film, this genre-crossing mini-masterpiece definitely has a super-creepy vibe, and more importantly it has a macabre wit that's really in line with the Halloween spirit. Jake Gyllenhall stars as Donnie Darko, a rebellious but wise and sensitive teen who isn't quite sure if he's dreaming, going crazy, or actually visited by a dude in a creepy bunny suit from another dimension. You've got a killer 80s soundtrack, time travel, and yes, a conclusion that takes place on Halloween — check it out and see why this cult film has such a legion of totally obsessed fans!
