Morlock Night by K.W. Jeter

A sequel to H.G. Wells' wonderful The Time MachineMorlock Night is about the main character of Wells' classic returning to "modern day" only to find that evil morlocks he encountered in the future have followed him back and started to wreck havoc on London. Really enjoyable steampunky romp that is one of the better early steampunk novels.
