Instead of Wendy, Bordeyne’s gender-swapped series features Wren Darling who she describes as a good brother figure “to the point he would not even acknowledge his own feelings and needs, just because he would be scared his sisters would have the same lonely childhood he had.”

“So I voluntarily set Mr. and Mrs. Darling as very busy parents but they're not necessarily bad parents, they're just working a lot in order to keep the family as wealthy as possible. But still, in the Darling siblings mind, money is marked as a 'bad' thing that only grown ups care about,” she said.
