Despite the positive response, she has received some interesting questions about her work as the series has progressed. Bordeyne said one question revolved around why the only person of color in the Petra Pan universe was the bad guy, Hook. This was before Bordeyne posted her drawings of colored characters among the good guys, like this Lost Girl illustration.

Bordeyne planned to add more characters of color all along but since the series was in progress the reader didn’t know. Bordeyne said creating diverse characters was something she definitely wanted to try.
