3. Cheeta (Tarzan)

Although never having appeared in Edgar Rice Burroughs’ series of novels, Cheeta the chimpanzee is synonymous with the Tarzan films and television series. Naturally there’s been more than one chimp taking on the mantle of Cheeta, but the common denominator among all of them is stealing the spotlight from his vine-swinging counterpart through comedic pantomime and an inborn yearn to engage in some monkeyshines (pun intended for the sake of the countdown's theme).
