14. Robby

Robby the robot is one of the most long lasting and recognizable robots of all time. It made its first appearance as a character in the 1956 sci-fi blockbuster Forbidden Planet, but Robby went on to make appearances in everything from The Twilight Zone and The Addams Family to awesome 80s entertainments like Mork & Mindy and Gremlins. Maybe there's not much psychological robo-complexity to be found here, but there's no doubting its timeless design still captures imaginations everywhere.
