What would James Bond be like without his near endless supply of super-cool high tech gadgets like an invisible car, laser-beam emitting Rolex, and bullet shooting cigarettes? A lot less awesome, that's for sure, and so there is no doubt that this fictional head of the research and development branch of the British Secret Service is a huge part of what makes the Bond universe so much fun.
