The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen by Alan Moore & Kevin O’Neill (2000)

Alan Moore is arguably the greatest comic book writer of all time, a legend responsible for works like WatchmenV for Vendetta, and Swamp Thing. Even he couldn’t resist the pull of steampunk, as he took characters from all sorts of classic works and threw them into a Victorian setting with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Although subsequent works in the series don’t have the same panache, that doesn’t change that the first volume is pretty much the definitive example of steampunk in graphic form.
