Neuromancer by William Gibson

Aside from being the birthplace of the cyberpunk movement, Neuromancer also happens to be one of the better novels about examining technology’s role in our daily lives. So much about the novel, written more than 25 years ago, was predictive of our real present that it’s downright unsettling. Neuromancer was an amazing novel when it was originally published, but only becomes more important as time goes by as William Gibson is proven to be some kind of sci-fi Nostradamus.
