The MindHut Guide to Visiting Exoplanets

WASP 12-b

Lots of people want to get rich on vacation. They might to Las Vegas to gamble, or visit countries where they can get duty free jewelry. WASP-12b blows all of those destinations out of the water. Simply put: this planet is a giant diamond. Scientists recently discovered that the place reeks of a high carbon-to-oxygen ratio, and that its close orbit with its star has likely compressed the gas giant's core into diamond and graphite. It's like WASP-12b's sun is wearing a cosmic engagement ring.

What to bring: Shovels; boxes; a U-Haul.
