15 Classics That Need the Sherlock Treatment

Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is one of the more enduring works of classic sci-fi, and has one of the more memorable protagonists in Captain Nemo. It’s also pretty impressive that he is a minority character, something that is still rare in sci-fi today and was basically completely unheard of when it was originally published. A modern series could be any number of things, including a Star Trek-style space travel show with Nemo captaining a spaceship called Nautiluus, or a more contemporary version with a submarine-type ship exploring unknown regions under the ocean. We’re pretty cool with either of these.
