13 Olympic Events That Struck Out

Skijoring

The 1928 Olympics were memorable for the weather. Sure, you could expect a blizzard during the opening ceremonies in Switzerland in February. But not temperatures in the high 70s. Less memorable? The first – and last – appearance of skijoring. This is a popular sport where a person on skis is pulled by a horse, dog or a snowmobile or motorcycle. I like the Iditarod – they should bring this back.
