Dinosaurs Are Instructive
As naturalist David Attenborough has repeatedly warned, we are now entering the sixth major extinction event in the history of the planet. This one is on us: the rise of humans has been the death knell for many other species, and if we don't change, we'll end up on the casualty list ourselves. Dinosaurs can teach us a little something about extinction and its effects, and their successes and failures ought to be looked at as a cheat code for long-term success. Example: we're probably going to want to hurry up and colonize space at some point, because the dinosaurs learned the hard way that when a big rock hits (and it inevitably will) you don't want to be stuck in the rubble.
