There are fewer things that have the potential to devastate us more than losing a loved one and in the brilliant Robert Zemekis film Contact, Jodie Foster plays a scientist attempting to communicate with extra terrestrial life while struggling to come to terms with the death of her beloved father. Without giving anything away we’ll just say that the title has dual meanings.
