Earth from Neuromancer

The biggest part of the brilliance that is William Gibson’s Neuromancer is that it makes him look like a mystical prophet. The novel came out in 1984, and yet the world he describes in his cyberpunk masterpiece is terrifyingly close to what the world is like now, 30 years later. Technology rules over everything, and even the poorest of people spend their time attached directly to the internet, to the point where practically everything in everyone’s life is electronic. Sound familiar?
