15 Awesome Fictional Versions of Earth

Earth from 1984

When you think dystopia, chances are you thinkĀ 1984. Most of us read that sort-of sci-fi gem in high school, and hopefully acquired with it a healthy dose of questioning authority. The novel is set in a world where the government watches everything everyone does, apparently as a means of keeping down rebellion and preventing anyone from saying anything bad about Big Brother. To make things worse, they fabricate fake wars as a means of inspiring national pride, another way to keep control. Definitely some unsettling stuff.
