3) Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell)

Captain Marvel (the original Mar-Vell incarnation) was one of the Marvel universe’s most powerful and gregarious heroes. Sadly, there was one foe Captain Marvel couldn’t overcome: cancer. Previously exposed to a nerve gas called Compound 13, the hero spent his final hours surrounded by friends and even foes deeming him a worthy adversary.
