Science Gets Homey With Cross-Stitched Germs And Microbes

Watkins said her microbes originally started getting attention on Tumblr, where the main response she’s seen is that the cross-stitches are cute. She appreciates the response but wants to remind people that they view them this way because they’re neatly embroidered and that’s how people tend to respond to embroidery in our culture.
