Animals That Evolved from Crazy-Different Ancestors

Believe it or not, that lil guy in the picture is the granddaddy of whales and dolphins. This adorable transitional species—called Indohyus—was descended from animals who had left the oceans to try their luck on land. But Indyohyus wondered whether life really had been better down where it's wetter. Before long, it had exchanged legs for fins and a nose for a blowhole. Maybe in the future, the descendants of modern whales and dolphins will take to the land again! It's the ciiiircle of liiiife...
