The Host

In 2006, South Korean box office records were smashed by this thoughtful take on Kaiju cinema, and it won raves across the world for blending big budget, Steven Spielberg-style thrills with the intrigue of a political thriller. The story of The Host concerns a father who attempts to rescue his daughter from the clutches of a giant sea monster that may or may not have consumed her. There has been much talk of an American remake, but we feel you might as well let a masterpiece like this be!
