The Glass Hammer by K.W. Jeter

K.W. Jeter is an author who has dabbled in a lot of different areas of sci-fi. He coined the term steampunk, and wrote some classics in that genre like Infernal Devices and Morlock Night. He wrote a handful of Star Wars tie-in novels featuring Boba Fett. He wrote the novel sequels to Blade Runner, and some really excellent cyberpunk novels like The Glass Hammer. It follows a character whose job is to race across a barren wasteland avoiding government weapon satellites in order to smuggle black market computer chips. It’s as crazy as it sounds.
