Wheaton is not the only Star Trek veteran who has leveraged his time on the Enterprise into noble causes. Takei, the original Sulu, has enjoyed a second wave of fame recently due to his entertaining geek-outs on Twitter and Facebook. But George is perhaps even more famous for his courageous stand on human rights, especially for the LGBT community of which he is a part (he's also very involved in Japanese-American relations). Though he has received many awards for his advocacy, perhaps the most impressive is having asteroid 7307 named after him. May he live long and prosper.
