Doctor Who – “Survival”

After years of struggling ratings despite some of the best stories of the show’s run, Doctor Who was cancelled after its 26th season. A ginormous run by any measure, fans were pretty upset when Doctor Who didn’t even get a chance to really wrap up its story. “Survival” may not have been intended to work as a finale, but it’s really very good considering. It marks a turning point for longtime companion Ace, has a great “final” faceoff between the Doctor and the Master, and in retrospect works pretty well as a series closer despite all it had going against it. Still, we’re glad the show has come back to give us more!
