5) Luna Park, Coney Island

Replacing Coney Island’s Astroland amusement park after its closure in 2007, Luna Park now stands as the premier destination for carnival-style excitement and fun in Brooklyn. Inspired aesthetically by the original Luna Park of the early 20th century, the rides and atmosphere tip a proverbial hat to its predecessor. And grabbing a Nathan’s hot dog and riding the Cyclone roller coaster once there is customary (preferably not in that order).
