Other notable titles of the 60s era include Gigantor, Samurai Kid, Sally the Witch, Tiger Mask and Marine Boy. Also among these popular children’s series was Speed Racer, a show which became a moderate success in the U.S. and Europe and also spawned a bizarre and supremely abysmal live-action American remake by the Wachowskis in 2008, which failed to capture Racer’s off-beat charm.
