Altruistic Suicide  -  A term used to describe suicides committed by individuals who exist in a community wherein the social rules dictate that that person's life is sacrificial.
Anomic Suicide  -  A term used to describe suicides that usually result from sudden disruptions in the social hierarchy or norms, such as economic or political crises, or disruptions in the individual's normal life.
Baseline Levels  -  A term used to describe the frequency of behavior in an individual in the absence of any abnormal behavior.
Base Rates  -  Population frequencies.
Comorbidity  -  The simultaneous manifestation of more than one disorder.
Contagious Suicide  -  A term used to describe a socio-cultural theory that emphasizes that one of the leading causes of suicide may be suicide-by-example.
Egoistic Suicide  -  A term used to describe suicides involving individuals who have become detached from society and believe that their existence is meaningless.
Family Therapy  -  A form of treatment that involves two, three, or more members of a family and focuses on improving negotiation and communication skills within the family.
Fatalistic Suicides  -  A term used to describe suicides common among individuals who believe that the circumstances surrounding their lives have simply become unbearable.
Prevention Centers  -  Crisis centers and hotlines that exist in order to help the individual through immediate crises, refer them to a psychologist, and, hopefully, prevent such impulse actions as suicide.
Suicide  -  A term used to describe the act of intentionally killing oneself.
