Sparkler Proxidike sent in so many cute photos from a recent African safari that we couldn't choose just one. In this pic, the zebra's great and all, but it's the zebra's little buddy that really maximizes cuteness. For riding on the back of a wild animal 392 times its size, that teeny bird looks like it doesn't have a care in the world.

Adopt the perspective of the bird, the zebra, or just an outsider, and leave your caption about this unlikely frienship in the comments!

Our regular Cute Thing caption fiesta is going on a week-long siesta so we can bring you a music video that's too cute (and ridiculous) not to publish.

Can you believe this photo of a baby rhino was taken by a Sparkler on safari?! Sparkler Proxidike recently got back from a trip to Africa, and sent us loads of adorable exotic baby animal pics.

The little guy (or gal...we're not sure) feeding from a bottle in this shot is only eight months old, and is making us editors wonder if the "no dogs or cats allowed" rule in our New York apartments means we could keep a rhinoceros instead.

Since we've had adorable cats up on Cute Thing before, let's make this time a litttttle more interesting.

The caption that gets posted on next week's pic must use a metaphor.

Here's an example:

"Your whiskers are rays of sunlight that illuminate the depths of my once-black soul, Fred."

So get into the head of one of those cats, and get poetic, Sparklers. We're excited to read your eye cat-ching captions!

This photo illustrates perfectly the reasons we should all aspire to be dogs: When you're a dog, there is no loss of innocence, no obligation to be self-aware, no such things as ego, responsibility, creepy uncles, or dental floss.

You wanna get wet? Jump in a fountain.

The world is your playpen, and any stonefaced creature could be your next best friend.
