Instructions for the Science Reasoning Test
As you’ve probably figured out by now, you should memorize the instructions for the Science Reasoning Test before you get to the test center. The instructions for this test are pretty straightforward, but you shouldn’t even glance at them on test day because time is extremely valuable on the ACT. Read the instructions to yourself a couple times to make sure you have them memorized.

Instructions: This test contains seven passages, each accompanied by several questions. You should select the answer choice that best answers each question. Within the total allotted time for the subject test, you may spend as much time as you wish on each individual passage. Calculator use is not permitted.

Don’t worry about the last sentence regarding calculator use. There is absolutely no need for a calculator on this test, so it doesn’t matter that you’re not allowed to use one.
