The Argument Essay
The Argument Essay
The test makers call this essay “Analyze an Argument,” because that’s exactly what they want you to do. You’ll be given 30 minutes to plan, draft, and proofread an essay about an argumentative passage, known as the “topic.” Argument essay topics always give you a brief argumentative paragraph, which will include a conclusion and at least two premises. Your job is to analyze the validity of the argument. Our job is to ensure you know how to respond to a GRE argument and support your analysis with relevant examples—in other words, produce a “6” Argument essay.
