The Ugly
Well . . . it’s Reading Comprehension. Sure, some like it, but many others are
hard pressed to find a less appealing, more tortuous standardized test item type.
While some people actually do logic games for enjoyment, no one whips through a
Reading Comp passage on the nuances of Iroquois governing principles by the pool to
while away the time on a sunny afternoon. Even Logical Reasoning is not without its
charms, with its colorful characters, occasionally humorous flaws, and short,
entertaining dialogues. But Reading Comp? Same old, same old since first grade—just
much, much harder. Been there, done that, not fun.
