Obvious enough: long, often excruciatingly boring passages, accompanied by difficult, esoteric questions. In first grade you thought Dick and Jane was bad; now you get a heaping helping of “Critical Legal Studies” or “the migratory patterns of hummingbirds” or some such nonsense. But wait, it’s not all bad . . .
