Avoid jargon whenever possible. Some people employ phrases like leverage the research and optimize the content because they believe, mistakenly, that jargon makes them sound smart. On the contrary, almost everyone glazes over in the presence of statements like At the end of the day, our core competencies will mean the difference. Unless the use of jargon will impress your boss and lead to a raise, stick to traditional words.
