Rhetorical Questions
A rhetorical question expects no answer—it’s used for rhetorical effect.
At best, rhetorical questions are pompous. At worst, they are a transparent attempt to avoid coming to a conclusion. Avoid them in your writing.
Undesirable: But what does Beatrice really feel about Benedick?
better: Despite her annoyance with Benedick, Beatrice secretly enjoys his company.
