5 Famous Books Whose Original Titles Would Have Changed Everything

Much like doing a cartwheel or correctly saying the word “anemone,” coming up with a title for your book is just one of those things you have to try a few times before you get it right. 

Jane Austen, for instance, considered calling her novel First Impressions before eventually settling on Pride and Prejudice. This is a perfectly innocuous option, I think you’ll agree. If she had stuck with First Impressions, we all would’ve been fine.

However, some authors nearly chose titles for their books that would have changed the world as we know it, and no, I don’t think I’m exaggerating this point one bit.
