It’s only mid-March, but the weather is already pleasant in NYC, with temperatures in the 70’s! I’ll admit, we had an extremely mild winter this year, but still, there’s nothing better than waking up and feeling the hot sun fill your room. This spring, the pieces I’m coveting are: pastel pants, light as air knit sweaters, A-line skirts, a little white dress, embellished collars and blouses, and leather accessories.
To celebrate the weather, I wore some of my favorite recently-thrifted finds. Here are my picks for super cute spring dressing:
(Dress, Hold My Gold Vintage | Hat, H&M | Sunglasses, Buffalo Exchange | Shoes, Jeffrey Campbell)
I love the giant, abstract-looking floral print on this dress. This mini is the perfect thing to throw on for a day in the sun. To top off this outfit, I added floral heart-shaped sunglasses and a hat. If I wanted to get super ’90’s, I could throw on some combat boots for a tromp around Central Park.
I can’t believe how inexpensive this dress was! It’s a 50’s style 80’s era dress. Catch that? The silhouette and shape are classic 50’s: A-line skirt and mid-calf hemline—though the sweetheart neckline is a little daring. From the tags on the inside (AKA Union Made Garment) and the size of the label and care instructions, I conclude that this dress was probably made in the ’80’s. I would love to have a fancy tea party or a Sunday brunch in this ensemble.
(Blouse, Vintage Oscar de la Renta | Jeans, Coptoir des Cottones, Buffalo Exchange, $16 | Shoes, Nine West)
I didn’t try these jeans before buying them, and assumed they would be ankle length “cigarette” jeans. I was about five inches off. I actually liked this cropped pant length a lot, though it gave me memories of pedal pushers from fifth grade! Pairing the pants with heels helps this outfit feel more grown up. I’m also loving the thin chambray colored stripes (hard to see in the photo).
Have you busted out your spring clothes yet? What are you most excited to wear?
