Rest in Peace, Cory Monteith

Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead at the age of 31 in a Canada hotel room on Saturday. We don’t know much about how he died, but we do know that the world lost a great actor and performer. He was best known for his role as Finn on Glee, but has a few movies in post-production, according to IMDB. Cory was dating his Glee co-star, Lea Michele.

An autopsy has not been performed, but police suspect he died via an overdose. Cory had struggled with drug use in the past. In 2011, he told Parade Magazine that, as a teen, he had a serious drug problem.

Afraid that he “could die,” his mother and a group of friends staged an intervention when he was 19. “That’s when I first went to rehab. I did the stint but then went back to doing exactly what I left off doing.”

He got clean after that, but he relapsed a few months ago. Cory checked himself into a rehab facility this spring, and appeared to be doing well.

We don’t know how better to remember him, than by showcasing his talent and humor. We rounded up some of Cory’s best Glee moments and interviews.
