It’s a (troublingly) recent phenomenon that trans* and non-binary identities have been spotlighted \u00a0by \u00a0mainstream media in a way that promotes social equality for these identities. While this is certainly a giant leap in the right direction, we have a long way to go before the spectrums of gender identity and gender expression become concepts \u00a0that a majority of the population understand and accept.<\/p>\n
Gender is \u00a0complicated, it’s complex, and it means something different to everyone. \u00a0We haven’t hit \u00a0on this topic as \u00a0often as we’d like to be true\u2014here’s a superb \u00a0piece<\/a> \u00a0from the \u00a0essay contest we held, and some of our \u00a0Auntie<\/a> columns<\/a> \u00a0address the topic.
