He could have just stopped at \u201cThe Tell-Tale Heart\u201d and we all would have been fine with it, but he didn&#8217;t. Perhaps he knew, somehow, that he was destined to die young\u2014destined to meet his maker \u00a0at the tender age of 40 due to drugs or cholera or alcohol or rabies, no one&#8217;s really sure. In any case, maybe he knew he was short on time and so he used what little time he had to gift us with as many unsettling works of fiction \u00a0as he could.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, he wrote so many things \u00a0that you probably haven&#8217;t read them all (SLACKER), so here are some of his best as described \u00a0in texts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Edgar Allan Poe wrote lots of \u00a0poems and short stories.
